Two stunning Orange County properties served as the stage for a pair of unforgettable musical performances by local artists in collaboration with Sofar Sounds, which specializes in organizing secret, invite-only music gigs in unexpected locations.
On a recent Saturday evening, 2512 Glenneyre Street in Laguna Beach hosted English singer-songwriter Karima Francis, harpist Gracie Sprout and folksy, alt-rock band The Ateliers. The event also benefitted the Laguna Food Pantry.
“In addition to being in an incredible location—above Laguna’s most beloved beaches—this home is perfect for beautiful, intimate parties like this,” says Phillip Caruso, who represents the property alongside Michael Caruso. “We held the performances in the newly remodeled great room. Between sets, guests stepped out on the two decks and took in the night sky and 180-degree views of the Pacific.”
In Newport Beach, 1918 Dover Drive—also known as The Dover House—hosted a sunset showcase of local talents, which included Huntington Beach-born singer-songwriter Matt Costa and Adam Topel, guitarist Raul Pacheco of Ozomatli and buzzy up-and-coming band, Hello Forever.
“The Dover House has a bright, breezy feel—it’s indoor-outdoor design is laid-back and filled with high-end details,” says Phillip of the completely rebuilt 3,185-square-foot estate, which boasts a backyard with a pool and unique coastal-contemporary-meets-farmhouse style.
“Everyone loved the tranquil courtyard setting for this event. Folks gathered around the fire pit and watched the sunset as the musicians played. It was a quintessentially picturesque SoCal night.” At the end of the evening, guests enjoyed handcrafted appetizers and small bites from Newport Beach restaurant OLEA.
