The Los Angeles real estate market is fast-paced and always in high demand, with the most discerning buyers from around the world wanting to stake their claim in the City of Angels. There has been a lot of action in the very high-end market of late—including the record-setting $165 million sale of the Warner Estate to Amazon's Jeff Bezos—and The Agency is proud to represent the newest offering among the top-tier properties in Los Angeles—The Beverly House.

Represented by Mauricio Umansky and Santiago Arana, the former estate of world-renowned newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst and famed actress Marion Davies, The Beverly House has served as the backdrop for memorable scenes in “The Godfather” and “The Bodyguard.” Situated on 3.5 stunning acres three blocks from the Beverly Hills Hotel, the estate was originally built in 1927. Serving as a destination on Jacqueline and John F. Kennedy's honeymoon, the estate boasts 18 bedrooms and suites, 25 baths, a near Olympic-sized swimming pool, terraces that could accommodate a 400-person seated dinner and grounds to accommodate more than 1,000 guests.

“We are very proud to bring The Beverly House to market,” says Mauricio. “We have seen so much action in the high end of late, now is the time to have one of the most unique and beloved homes offered for sale. This is truly one-of-a-kind, and the new owner will not only be buying a home, but also a slice of Tinseltown history.” Among its magnificent features—a two-story library with hand-carved paneling and a wraparound walkway; a formal living room with a 22-foot-high, hand-painted ceiling; a state-of-the-art spa; and a billiards room with herringbone parquet floors, an intricately designed ceiling and carved fireplace, both from the Hearst Castle in San Simeon. The gardens, designed by landscape architect Paul Thiene, include cascading waterfalls to the pool as well as impressive, mature trees. “This is such a special property, and we are looking forward to being the stewards in finding a new owner to enjoy and care for it as previous owners have done,” says Santiago. “Its architecture, history, grounds, and location are all very appealing, and we are sure there will be interest from real estate connoisseurs from all over the world.”

Designed by Gordon Kaufmann, the famed architect behind the Hoover Dam and some of the most prominent estates in the Beverly Hills area, The Beverly House stands as an emblem of Hollywood’s Golden Era. Renowned for its H-form architecture, the estate boasts long colonnades, wide balconies and arched floor-to-ceiling windows.

Situated on its own promontory for absolute privacy and security, The Beverly House, paired with the adjacent property, offers the chance to own one of the country’s most treasured estates. See more pictures of The Beverly House below.
